This game still fun to play for new players in 2024 but not worth spending money on anymore. I think Cryptic made a HUGE mistake of nerfing all classes to weaklings and broken many player's fantasy of become a supper hero in normal dungeons, sure they want players to team up and rely on each other to do their part, that is fair but even whales will not like to spend money in a game if there is no chance or incentive to make them look good, not to mention regular free players who always very protective of their wallets. Who want to spend a lot of time and money to build a character and end up get beaten by a bunch of mobs and need help from other players to stay alive even before they can meet the real bosses. A 40K IL character can easily out perform a 80K character makes high IL a joke. Item Ievel only become a pay wall for those who don't know how to bypass it. Old players cannot help new players much in lower dungeons if they got scale down to the same level. Only hard endgame dungeons for hardcore players should be like that. I am sure it is not difficult to make some for those people. Hardcore players also will not staying in one game for long once they finished their goal, especially for a low budget game without a lot of players.
Removed the Dragons from starting area is also not good for the game to retain new players, I still remember how fun it was when I first playing this game and fought the green dragon with other players in Neverdeath Graveyard as newbie, levelling with experiences progression is a lot more enjoyable than just complete quests in any game. The quests become works if you have to do it too often, not exactly fun there. They did shorten the levelling time at least in half by making short cut here and there but levelling in Neverwinter is the fun part of this game and no need to cut short and messed with the story lines, it is the endgame requirements that need to cut short. Campaigns still ok if they update the rewards a little or no one will bother to do the older ones, Sybella quests can only help up to a certain point, there should be some surprise random rare drops to keep player interest even if those are just cosmetic.
Lockboxes are a lot more fair now for those who open a lot but those are still gambling and not something one should rely on, but at least it will help the game to stay alive, if no one spend money, any game will die.
